First Seminar In Kuwait For Only Men
___

 by Abraham Taliaferro

I have been asked to express my perspective on co-leading a Seminar, Levels: 1,2,3 in Kuwait for men only, that took place in February 2023. Exact words are hard to describe the experience and feelings from the week, but I will attempt. We had 23 participants from the Middle East and nine staff members from Belgium, Turkey, France, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the Netherlands. I traveled 30+ hours alone to show up in an unknown foreign land, meeting people for the first time upon arrival. This growth of stepping into the unknown, and pushing past discomfort, was the baseline for what was to unfold during this week of profound transformation.

Misconceptions of false articles on the internet and friends advising me to be careful; created this false narrative of Kuwait and the people that reside there. I experienced only love, beauty, kindness, compassion, support, openness, and more. The anxiety going into the program quickly dissolved, and I felt like I had landed in a tribe of brothers I had known my entire life.

I knew the week would be powerful, but I thought there would be so much resistance among the men in this culture and the work I share. Again, another misconception, the participants fully surrender from the first session, and I have never seen so much transformation in a seminar among the entire group. From my perspective, there were massive breakthroughs for almost the whole class every day and in each session. The experience and support from the staff and the support and safety from the classmates created this environment that made this possible. I cannot express my gratitude to all the people who allowed this program to happen in such a beautiful way. First off, Manal Al-Musallam for organizing the program. Secondly, that amazing staff that I would be honored to work with any time again. Finally, Dr. Judith Kravitz the amazing mother who has done so much for me besides sharing this gift with me. You have been a fantastic mentor, mother, humanitarian, pioneer, and more. I also have to say that this program would not have happened or have happened as effectively if it were not for how the participants showed up. I learned so much during the week and know this is just the start of creating more breathwork accessible for men in the middle east.

To witness 23 male participants plus nine male staff members express unconditional love to one another, to cry, to laugh, to joke, to learn, to teach, and to just be, was nothing less than impressive. If I could define or identify divine masculinity, it would be this group. It is absolute truth :) (inside joke.) I am grateful for this opportunity, for the breath, and for this new excitement to work with men worldwide. I honor all breathworkers and the light you share. Let us all continue operating from our hearts, live in miracle consciousness, and share this work to make the world a better place.

Many blessings,
Abe

Denis:

Honestly, I was curious about what facilitating a men-only seminar in the Middle East would look like. Maybe people would refrain from showing their true selves, trying to maintain countenance or something. I thought perhaps religion could get in the way. However, what I discovered there was really the opposite.

There was such a profound brotherhood atmosphere, so much support, and encouragement towards each other. Witnessing these strong men openly showing their feelings and facing their deepest traumas head-on was beautiful.

Many of them were bridging their experiential realizations with the teachings of Islam beautifully and cleverly.
I met amazing individuals there and forged several friendships that will last a lifetime. Overall, the experience was really amazing, and I look forward to working again with these men in the future.
