Post-COVID Hygiene Guidelines For Working With Transformational Breath®

by Eugenia Altamira

There are a few things we want to bring to your awareness to work professionally in our field in these post-Covid times when we are all more aware of how easily diseases can spread.

First, we invite you to stay updated on each country's local guidelines and recommendations. They constantly change, and we expect all our professionals to comply with their government.

Also, we suggest keeping an eye on the recommendations issued by the International Breath Foundation (IBF).

The following are some basic recommendations that you could follow. They will support hygiene for your clients and reduce the risk of transference of any respiratory condition that any person in attendance could have. At the same time, these measures show participants and staff that you are doing your best to protect them. If someone gets sick, in their mind, they will know you tried your best to protect them.

  1. Wear a mask when Facilitating.
  2. As much as possible, keep the supplies per participant separate and identified—especially the pillows.
  3. You can also give each participant a towel or a soft cloth to put on their pillow for each session.
  4. Use hand sanitizer and wash your hands before and after the sessions.
  5. Have a container, like a small Tupperware or a Ziplock bag, to keep the mouthpieces in after use.
  6. Don't handle used mouthpieces or tissues with your bare hands. Try to use a tissue, and it's always a good idea to wash your hands after a session if you handled one of these items.
  7. Having an air filter or air purifier in the classroom will improve air quality. Not only for COVID, as you know, but toxins are also released into the air.
  8. Open windows and doors as often as possible to keep the air circulating.
  9. Have your clients sign the COVID Release of Liability and the health statement.

We hope you find these simple measures helpful.
